People are defying the odds and carving out the life they want. Growing up in Europe (I am Australian by birth), I remember Gypsies travelling around in their vardos and caravans. It was harder back then, there was no internet to homeschool children, boon docking did not include solar panels, huge batteries, and mobile devices, Netflix or Gaming. But now, with all these advancements, the possibilities are endless, and the life you dream of is within reach.
All of that is changing, and fast. Sometimes, necessity is the engine to bring about change, and with a housing crisis crunching people’s lives and lifestyles, people realise they can live their best lives now. This movement, sparked by many under 30, is not about waiting until retirement to enjoy life, but about seizing the present. By not being tied down by mortgages or rent, they are investing in experiences, travelling, and working online. I’ve experienced this freedom myself, travelling around Australia, and it’s truly liberating.
Not everyone wants a half-a-million-dollar debt hanging over them to get a job. You can get an education, work experience, and travel at the same time. It’s a choice that’s becoming more and more obvious. Thankfully, life is undergoing a revolution, and it’s about time.
Many people on the road have discovered the freedom of providing their own power needs and internet. People are using Starlink, big data mobile phone plans, unlimited data on mobile sim, and more.
YouTube is full of ideas. Don’t leave living your best life till you’re old. Plan what’s best for you and be open-minded about those options.
