Watching Supernatural in its “Purity”
The TV show was originally intended for viewing on TV and disc format, even though it was available for streaming when it finished filming season 15. The dilemma is in its “original” form with all the cool music and, notably AC/DC, thisis only on disc format. As explained by Screen Rant;
As the show continues to be popular on streaming, many have noticed that some episodes and seasons of Supernatural don’t have the right music from when the episodes originally aired on The CW, stemming from not getting the rights to share between the artists and streaming platforms.16 Nov 2024
Even though the guys joke about getting older due to streaming services, it is fresh and alive all over again. The “new” crowd are very excited, while us originals held it all in and we were in for the ride. It is wonderful to see fresh blood coming in (no pun intended).
Supernatural Wiki has a quick overview of official global events (yes, these folks are very global) supernatural events. Keep in mind if there are fan conventions near you, check to see if someone from Supernatural is appearing; chances are someone is, and they are everywhere. The good news is, due to its popularity, if social media and blogging/vlogging is something you would like to get into, and now is definitely the time to look for more significant, active accounts and share them with them, they will share. Say hi to other fan accounts you want to get to know first. You will need media clearance, but they are willing to work with polite people and can help you grow as a content creator. Relationships are key.
Current Events
Hosted by Rob Benedict and Richard Speight, Jr., the rewatch of Supernatural, “Supernatural Then and Now,” is on season 6 now. This is a great resource as they interview the creator, Eric Kripke, Jared and Jensen, other cast members, writers, directors, and pretty much any crew they can get their hands on. This tool is invaluable for those of us in the industry as we hear the blood, sweat, and tears that went into building this stellar show.
You can find Linktree on their official Instagram account for their podcast, Patreon, and other social media. They also regularly appear at fan conventions.
“Other Resources” will be a regular along with our 12 month study of Supernatural, to help you gain an in-depth look at building a tv show and fandom.
